Great for small team events

What is The Occasional Brewer?

It’s a venue designed to brew good craft beer. You pay a fee, they give you ingredients, a recipe, and provide guidance on how to brew your beer. It’s fully hands-on for you, with a beer expert nearby to answer any questions.

Visit their website or Facebook.

Why would you want to go there?

To brew your own beer! It’s perfect for up to 12 people brewing on the 6 units, and a couple of people watching.

A great team building exercise for your colleagues, a bunch of mates celebrating a birthday or even just you by yourself putting a brew down (if you know what you’re doing!).

There’s a great craft beer bar next door (Crafters & Co) which you can pop next door to grab a beer and nibbles early on in the brewing process.

What I thought:

I put my first ever brew down at The Occasional Brewer (see photo) and absolutely loved the experience, so much so that I’ll be back soon (because I’ve almost drunk my brew already…).

  • Enlist the help of a mate/colleague. It’s easier to put one brew down between two-three of you.
  • Enjoy sustenance from Crafters & Co. It’s delicious.
  • Follow the recipe (duh!)
  • Take a mate to help with the bottling too.
  • Father’s Day will be here before you know it, and I bet Dad would love a voucher.

The beer I brewed is pretty good actually, and my experience at The Occasional Brewer was a pretty choice. I absolutely recommend your small team or group of friends to give it a go!
